Quick answers about the current, free version of Gumeo.
What is Gumeo?
Gumeo is a focused guitar toolkit for iPhone. It includes a metronome, Chord Dictionary, Chord Identifier, Scales, Arpeggios, Ear Trainer, and optional Focus Mode.
Is Gumeo free?
Yes. The current version is free and does not include subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-in or onboarding. Tool preferences are stored locally on your device.
Does Gumeo collect my practice data?
No practice profile, history, or progress account is created. Gumeo does not upload tool preferences or Focus Mode settings to a Gumeo server.
What does Focus Mode do?
Focus Mode uses Apple's Screen Time controls to limit apps, categories, or websites you choose for a timed session. It is optional and requires Screen Time permission.
Can the metronome keep playing in the background?
Yes. After playback starts, the metronome can continue when you leave Gumeo or lock the phone. Supported devices can also show its Live Activity and Dynamic Island controls.
Does Gumeo use the microphone?
No. Gumeo does not request microphone access. Chord and ear-training sounds use audio bundled with the app.
